Arnold spoke honestly. “If things are really as the Miss Aurora said, then isn’t the company already in a dangerous position?”
Hearing that, Grace suddenly felt his words made perfect sense.
This wasn’t the time for her to be drowning in sorrow.
The most important thing now was stabilizing the company.
An entire group of shareholders was still waiting on her.
If she collapsed at a time like this, what awaited her afterward would be nothing but endless darkness.
What made it worse was that Tessa had already figured out the company’s operations.
Grace had trusted her so completely, believing she was the right person to take over, yet Tessa treated her trust like nothing.
Aurora, however, was different. She not only lifted the company to a higher level but earned the genuine respect of everyone from top to bottom.
And she did it by starting at the bottom like any ordinary employee.
Thinking about this made Grace’s chest ache.
If she thought about it honestly, she owed Aurora far too much.
Just like Arnold said—she hadn’t even managed to take care of her own daughter.
Instead, she had showered all her affection on someone else’s child.
She really was the most foolish person alive.
“I understand. Thank you, Arnold.”
This time, Grace hesitated no longer.
She would follow Arnold’s advice—there wasn’t much time left for her to fix things.
If she kept sinking any further, the company might end up in someone else’s hands before she realized it.
And knowing how blind she had been, she might even help that person count the money with a smile.
