Someone chuckled. “Well, of course, our resident workaholic is back.”

“Alright, don’t get too emotional. This just shows that the people around you genuinely respect and care about you.”

His grip on her hand tightened a little. “And it also proves what a great leader you are. That’s why everyone stays loyal.”

Aurora’s tears were successfully stopped by his words.

She suddenly burst into a soft laugh, rubbing her nose.

“I wasn’t crying, okay? I was just… touched. I don’t know what’s going on. Lately, I’ve been way more emotional than usual.”

Lucas comforted her, “Yes, yes, of course. Women being a little emotional isn’t a bad thing it’s a gift you’re naturally born with.

“If it still worries you, once you’re done here, I’ll go with you to get it checked out.”

Aurora nodded. Lucas always thought of everything.

At first, she didn’t plan on getting checked, but then again, this shift in emotion was starting to affect her work.

Aurora sat back down in her office chair, her eyes resting on the familiar, spotless desk.
