“Natalie, we can fix all of this. Let’s raise Hanley together, okay? The three of us can be a happy family.”
“A family of three? There’s no room for me in your family of three, so don’t even think about using me to complete the picture.”
Natalie stared at Darren, her gaze resolute.
She wasn't going back.
Just then, Angela walked out. “Natalie, your ex-husband wants you back. You should just forgive him. The Cross Group may be bankrupt now, but he’s still a capable man. He can still give you a good life. Wouldn’t the three of you be happy together with your son? As for Terence, don’t even dream about it. Only someone like me is worthy of him.”
Darren frowned at Angela. “Who are you?”
“I’m Angela Everhart,” she said. “And as long as I’m here, you can rest assured your ex-wife will never marry into the Lockwood family. You should work a little harder to win her back and make sure she stops clinging to my Terence.”
“Miss Everhart? From the Everhart family, the richest in Valeronne?”
Angela preened. “That’s right. I’m the heiress of the Everhart family of Valeronne. You should be well aware of my family’s power. Only a princess like me is worthy of Terence. Natalie, you should give up on your fantasies. Your ex-husband is back, so you should just take the easy way out and get back together with him. Otherwise, you might end up… all alone.”
Natalie looked at Angela. “Even if you are Miss Everhart, you have no right to decide my life. He is just my ex-husband; we’re strangers now. For you to tell me to get back with him is incredibly rude, don’t you think?”
Natalie’s cold, proud gaze infuriated Angela.
