Ever since leaving the Lockwood estate, Natalie had been trying to persuade Terence not to give up anything for her. She had never planned on being with him. But now, how could she possibly leave?
Terence was disabled, Liana couldn't speak, and the only able-bodied person here was Lucas, who was just five years old.
How could he take care of his father and sister?
If she left, their situation would be truly tragic. So, Natalie made up her mind. She wasn't leaving.
"I'm not leaving. I'll stay with you. I won't leave you."
Terence said, "I know you're kind-hearted and can't bear to see us suffer. But we want to see you happy, and we don't want to drag you down. You should go. Just come visit the kids, and me, often."
Natalie tried to go inside to start cleaning, but Terence stopped her.
"It's filthy in there. I can't let you work so hard."
Natalie shot back, "Are you trying to kick me out?"
Terence said, "You can think of it that way if you want. This is who I am now. But I don't want to be a burden to you. Go."
Natalie said angrily, "Terence, what on earth are you thinking? You give up your position as CEO of the Lockwood Group to come suffer here, and then you try to drive me away? Are you an idiot?"
Terence said, "I gave up my position because you mean more to me than anything else in this world. No one can compare to you. And I'm telling you to go because I love you, and I can't bear to see you suffer."
At Terence's 'I love you,' Lucas and Liana let out a collective "Wow!" Natalie's heart suddenly started racing, and her face turned red. She hadn't expected Terence to confess so suddenly.
