Natalie was stunned. That wasn't what she meant at all!
"No, that's not…"
Just then, Richard and Elaine came downstairs and pulled Natalie aside. "It’s fine, Natalie. Let your brother knock some sense into that scoundrel. He’s got it coming."
"How dare Terence still think he has a chance with you after everything he’s done! We'll teach him a lesson he'll never forget, so he won't dare come near you again."
The three kids also came downstairs, only to see their Uncle Marcus brandishing a large blade and hacking at their father.
"What's going on?"
Richard and Elaine tried to shield the children, but they were outnumbered; there was no way to cover all the kids’ eyes at once.
"Kids, eyes shut! You don't need to see this. Upstairs, now!"
"Brother, don't hurt him!" Natalie pleaded. "It's all a misunderstanding!"
"What's there to misunderstand?" Marcus shot back. "He's really something, isn't he? Did he trick you again? Well, we're not so easily fooled. I'm going to finish this shameless jerk right now!"
Marcus completely ignored Natalie. Seeing no other choice, Terence acted instinctively, pinning Marcus down to restrain him. In the struggle, Marcus’s head struck the doorframe, and he slumped, unconscious. Richard and Elaine rushed forward to catch their son.
"You dare lay a hand on my son? I'll kill you!"
Natalie quickly stepped in front of her father. "Dad, Marcus is fine! He just fainted, he'll be okay in a minute. Please don't hurt Terence! He was just acting to save someone!"
"Save someone? Save who?"
Terence explained the whole situation again. Only then did the Wards realize they had misunderstood him.
"Let's get inside, quickly!"
Everyone carried Marcus into the house. Natalie quickly retrieved her needles. After they were expertly placed, Marcus finally groaned and stirred.
The moment he was lucid, he was ready to go after Terence again, but Richard stopped him.
"It was all a misunderstanding!"
