Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 248

Once it was public, those fossilized relatives would have plenty to say.

Maeve thought he was overthinking it. "I'm just going to see your mother."

Andres couldn't help correcting her. "She's family, Maeve. Yours as much as mine."

Maeve shot back, "Our relationship isn't public."

"My mother already knows we're married," Andres said calmly.

Maeve blinked. "You told her?"

"I was going to sooner or later."

"Even if you didn't come today, I'd find the right moment and bring you to the estate to meet her."

"She's heard… some things about our past. She doesn't have a bad impression of you."

Maeve didn't know what to do with that.

Two people who'd never belonged in the same story, shoved together by circumstance—now at the stage of meeting family.

Life really was a drama. And dramas, apparently, wrote life.

The drive from Azure Bay to the Whites' ancestral property took nearly an hour.

After they passed a tree-lined lane, a vast sweep of green opened up on both sides—manicured fields, landscaped grounds, private woodland that looked like it had never heard the word "development."

Maeve couldn't help the thought: "So this is what generational wealth looks like."

In a city where every acre was fought over, the Whites had carved out their own kingdom.

The car continued another ten minutes, and then the houses came into view—grand, old, stately in that way that made time feel slower.

Each building was tastefully aged, almost museum-like. For a moment, Maeve had the strange sensation she'd stepped into another century.

"I didn't know there were places like this in Aethelburg," she said. "Which one is yours?"

Andres smiled. "Past that lane—every inch of land you've been looking at belongs to the Whites."
