Seeing an opportunity, Yolanda purposely walks forward, "accidentally" bumping into Sheryl.
"Are you blind? Watch where you're going!" Sheryl, already fuming from Juniper's insults, entirely drops her elegant facade and snaps viciously.
"I'm so sorry, Ms. Yardley," Yolanda stands up straight, looking at her with wide, apologetic eyes. "My sister has a terrible temper, and I'm so sorry she embarrassed you like that. I want to apologize on her behalf."
"Sister?" Sheryl scrutinizes the girl in front of her, frowning. "Are you saying Juniper is your sister?"
Even though she's been out of the country for two years, she looked up Juniper's background after the disaster at the Schwartz estate. The file said she was an orphan taken in by the Sherwin family.
"Adopted sister. No blood relation," Yolanda nods with a practiced, sweet smile. "My sister has always had a rotten attitude. She used our grandfather's favoritism to act however she wanted. Now that she's reunited with all her powerful older brothers, she's completely out of control. Honestly, I don't know how she ever managed to trick Mr. Schwartz. With his status and background, I think someone like you is a much better match for him."
"Really?" Hearing Yolanda stroke her ego, a smug smile returns to Sheryl's face as she resumes her haughty posture. "At least someone around here has some sense."
"It's just the truth," Yolanda panders, continuing smoothly. "To be honest, Ms. Yardley, we all hate Juniper too. She's an ungrateful backstabber. She acts so tough because she has her brothers backing her, and now Mr. Schwartz..."
"I know about her brothers. One's just an actor, another's a broke doctor. None of them are actually important," Sheryl cuts her off coldly, adding with a venomous sneer, "As for Shanley... if she wants to be his girlfriend, she's going to have to survive first, right?"
Hearing that, Yolanda's heart skips a beat, her face draining of color. She didn't expect Sheryl to be this ruthless. She actually wants Juniper dead.
"Ms. Yardley, you really shouldn't underestimate her," Yolanda swallows hard, purposely adding fuel to the fire. "Juniper holds grudges, and she fights dirty. Someone as refined as you might not be able to handle her tactics."
"Hmph." Sheryl laughs, a cold, sharp sound. "I'm Sheryl Yardley. I've never failed to get what I want, and I've never missed when I want to ruin someone. Aside from having good grades, an actor brother, and some meaningless titles, what exactly does she have to fight me with?"
