Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1076

"Is it a man or a woman?!"

Sheryl rolled her eyes so hard it physically hurt. "A woman, obviously!"

In the past, she honestly wouldn’t have blamed anyone for questioning Shanley's sexuality. He was pushing thirty, insanely successful, ridiculously attractive, and yet he never let a single woman get within ten feet of him.

But after seeing the sickeningly devoted way he treated Juniper, she knew the truth.

Sheryl couldn't be bothered to entertain the gaggle of gossipers anymore. She tossed her hair over her shoulder and swayed her hips as she purred, "Mr. Schwartz. It's been far too long."

Shanley’s gaze flicked toward her for a fraction of a second. A flash of utter revulsion crossed his face before he looked away, walking straight past her as if she were a piece of trash on the sidewalk.

Sheryl froze, her hand still hovering awkwardly in the air.

"Oh, that's priceless," a rival socialite snickered, seizing the chance to strike. "I heard she practically threw herself at him during the Schwartz family dinner and he completely destroyed her. You'd think she’d learn her lesson."

"What do you know?" a girl in a slip dress whispered, her eyes gleaming with ambition. "High risk, high reward."

"If he didn't bring his fiancée to an event this huge, he's probably tired of her. If Sheryl throws herself at him, who knows? Maybe he’ll bite."

"Should we go say hi too? Try to get on his radar?"

"Absolutely not," a few girls chorused, vigorously shaking their heads. "He looks terrifying. I value my life."

Shanley Schwartz wasn't the type to show mercy just because a woman batted her eyelashes at him. Pissing him off was a one-way ticket to absolute ruin.

"If you guys aren't going, neither am I."

Remembering the rumors of an actress who had been literally tossed into a dumpster along with her car for crossing him, the group collectively shuddered.

"But do you think Sheryl was telling the truth? Does Mr. Schwartz actually have a side piece?"
