Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1108

Corvus froze, his teacup hovering in mid-air. He slowly raised his gaze, revealing eyes as black and freezing as an abyss.

"What did you say?" He slammed the cup down on the table, the sharp clatter echoing loudly. His aura flared with terrifying authority.

"I thought you were just morally bankrupt, but it turns out you're deaf, too." Celine stood her ground. Her hair was a mess, and her face was deathly pale, but she radiated a chilling, untouchable arrogance. "If I have to repeat myself, fine. Thanks to eight generations of your ancestors!" She spat the words out with surgical precision.

Corvus surged to his feet, a murderous aura rolling off him. His eyes were lethally cold.

"Did I strike a nerve?" Celine didn't back down. She met his glare head-on and laughed coldly. "We share zero blood. What kind of delusional uncle are you? I'll thank your ancestors all day, but they have absolutely nothing to do with mine."

Three times. She had insulted his bloodline three times in a row. Corvus clenched his fists, eyes blazing, fighting the urge to crush her throat on the spot.

"Do you even know why you're here?"

"Ha." Celine stared at him, speaking slowly and deliberately. "To feed your twisted little research obsession. You engineered a shipwreck, tore our family apart, locked my parents in a cage, and tried to hunt down us 'test subjects'. You brought me here to fulfill some sick, psychopathic fantasy. Tell me, am I close?"

With every word she spoke, Corvus's expression grew uglier. The surrounding guards were practically trying to melt into the floor in terror. Aside from Dr. Sommers, no one had ever dared to disrespect the Boss so blatantly to his face. He was going to slaughter her, wasn't he?

"What else could you possibly want with me, other than to dissect my brain and steal my genetics?" Celine took a breath and continued, "I assume you already know I've reunited with my family."
