Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1115

Theia stood frozen. If she had doubts before, she was now absolutely certain that Seven had recognized Silas. The 'Five' was Celine locked next door, and the 'Seven' was herself. No wonder she returned to Sanctum Holdings—it was likely because of Celine.

"Thank... thank you." Aware of the cameras, Theia didn't dare show too much emotion. She only added, "Dr. Nocturne, since my husband is improving, you probably won't need to come back, right?"

*Don't come back, Seven. You're so young. Live your own life. The waters of Sanctum Holdings are far too deep.*

"I don't know." Juniper's tone was icy as she suppressed the tidal wave of emotions inside her. "It depends on his recovery. If Sanctum Holdings pays enough, of course I'll be back."

It was a clear message to Theia: She would return to get them out.

"Right this way, Doctor," the guard interrupted, leading her away. "Mr. Thorne is waiting."

"Let's go." Juniper looked away, a layer of frost settling over her entire demeanor.

Watching the girl, Shanley frowned deeply. What had just happened? Why did it feel like she had suddenly turned into a completely different person?

In the main hall, Corvus sat in a mahogany chair, rolling a string of prayer beads in his hand. He stared at her with suspicion. "Dr. Nocturne asked to see me?"

"That's right." Juniper met his gaze and noticed the gold watch peeking out from his sleeve. She had seen that watch before. After the shipwreck, a mysterious organization had taken part in the rescue. One of the men wore that exact watch. If she had noticed it sooner, she might have found her parents much earlier.
