Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 809

“You knew I like mango cake?” Juniper smiled slightly. “Did you get this just for me?”

“Mhm, mhm.” Celine nodded vigorously, her expression full of innocent delight. “For you.”

Juniper’s heart ached even more. So even with the mind of a six-year-old, she still remembered her favorite things. All of her siblings loved her, and Celine was no exception.

She had her answer. Plus, she was worried that a late return would compromise the blood test results.

Juniper packed up her things. She pulled a bag out of her backpack and placed it on the table. “This is for you, to return the favor. Thank you for the mango cake,” she said softly.

“Snacks?” Celine leaned in for a closer look, her eyes lighting up. “Snacks for me?”

“I hope you like them.” Juniper stood up and looked down at Celine. “I’ll come see you again when the results are in.”

“You have to!” Celine scrambled to her feet and walked Juniper to the door, her eyes full of longing.

“I will,” Juniper nodded. Definitely. If she was her sister, she would bring her home.

Just then, Warren returned from the monitoring room and stood beside Celine, looking at Juniper. “You can go now.”

Juniper’s lips twitched. She couldn’t be bothered with this pretentious jerk and strode away without another word.

Back in the living room, Warren frowned when he saw the bag on the table. “The doctor gave you those snacks?”

“Mhm.”

Celine immediately darted forward, snatched the bag of snacks, and hugged it tightly to her chest like a precious treasure. “Dr. Nocturne gave them to me. He said it’s only fair to return a gift.”

Warren glanced at the snacks; they were all of Celine’s favorite flavors. Trying to win her over? He knew it. That doctor was up to no good. Trying to steal his wife right from under his nose! Damn him!

“Celine, too many snacks are bad for you.” Warren reached for the bag.

But Celine was faster. She clutched the snacks tightly and ran into the bedroom.

“Did you get the blood sample?” Harold had been waiting for a long time, so anxious and worried that he seemed to have aged several years.

“Yes.” Juniper handed him the sample and sat down, taking small sips of water. “I saw her real face today. She looks a lot like Ebony Fox.”

As for herself, they only had similar eyes. But that was already something. Harold and Melvin, on the other hand, looked nothing like her.

“Is that so?” Although Harold had already suspected it, his hand still trembled uncontrollably upon hearing the confirmation. “Barring any surprises, we should have the results by tomorrow afternoon.”

“Make sure you let me know.” Juniper grabbed her backpack and started walking out with a brisk pace. “Also, send me the previous blood analysis report.”

“Where are you going?” Harold asked.

“To my own institute,” Juniper said without stopping, her back to him. “You focus on the genetic testing. I’ll handle the rest.”

Great. She thought she had to cure one sister, and now… another one. Why was the health of her sisters so fragile!
