Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 817

“Which is why there are very few people who can actually perform hypnotherapy. As far as I know, the most reliable practitioner is Nocturne.”

Warren fell silent, his brows knitted together. After a long moment, he asked, “Are there any side effects from the treatment?”

“When first beginning treatment, the patient might not adapt well and could experience some headaches.”

Warren fell silent again. So that guy hadn't been lying. He really was treating Celine with hypnotherapy. It probably wasn't some secret attack, then.

“You may go.”

Warren waved his hand, and the doctor bowed respectfully and retreated. The room grew quiet.

Warren sat on the edge of the bed, gently holding Celine’s hand, his expression heavy.

If Nocturne was the only one who could safely treat her, did that mean he would have to beg him?

Ugh. Just thinking about him made his blood boil.

Soon, Celine began to stir. She opened her eyes and instinctively looked around, searching for Juniper. She sat up abruptly, grabbing Warren's hand. “Where’s the doctor?”

Warren stared at her, a dull ache spreading through his chest. He answered in a hoarse voice, “Celine, do you really like that doctor so much?”

“Yes, I do,” Celine nodded eagerly, her tone urgent. “I want to see the doctor.”

Like? The word sent a jolt of jealousy through him, and his hands tightened unconsciously.

“What do you like about him?” Warren asked, forcing himself to remain patient as he helped her take a sip of water.

“Pretty,” Celine replied.

Seeing Warren storm out, the staff were terrified. It was over. They’d been listening at the door and heard them arguing. It seemed the Madam of the island had fallen for Nocturne.

A maid leaned in, her eyes wide, and whispered, “Are you guys saying our boss is about to lose his wife?”

“Shh!” The others quickly hushed her, muttering amongst themselves, “It looks like it. He couldn’t even have a piece of his own wife’s mango cake. But the doctor could, and he even had it twice. You know what that means.”

No one else dared to speak. What a mess. No wonder their boss was so angry. He was trying to get his wife treated, and instead, he was about to lose her.

The maid approached Celine cautiously. “Ma’am… Your husband seems very angry. Maybe you should go talk to him?”

“I won’t!” Celine crossed her arms, her lips pouting like a stubborn child. “He won’t let me like the doctor, so now I don’t like him either!”

The maids exchanged complicated glances. Oh, Lord. This was not a good person to be crushing on.
