A family reunion at the hospital?
Coralie felt a wave of dizziness as the pieces clicked into place. Her mind raced.
Did Juniper go see Director Evans?
Combined with what happened earlier—the caretaker had mentioned that someone was suddenly asking about the orphanage. Could that have been Juniper? And later, Juniper had mentioned she was an orphan whose family had all passed away.
It was too much of a coincidence. Coralie's heart began to race; she knew the world didn't work on coincidences.
"Just sit tight. The Boss will deal with you as soon as he's done with his business," Flint tossed out the threat and turned on his heel, deliberately walking far away so he wouldn't have to hear her bang on the door.
Oddly enough, Coralie seemed to have tired herself out. The banging stopped completely.
Good, nice and quiet.
Flint strolled out to the main entrance just as one of his men ran up to him. "Boss, it's Felton on the phone."
"What's up?" Flint grabbed the phone and lazily dropped onto a sofa. "Did Ms. Payne find her sister yet? Where is she?"
"She found her," Felton said, his voice unusually cold and pausing for a heavy moment. "And we've met her."
"Damn, really? Small world." Flint sat up, burning with curiosity. "Who is it? Why didn't we recognize her?"
"It's Ms. Quill." Felton's voice sounded like the grim reaper dragging a soul to hell. "Coralie Quill is Ms. Payne's sister."
After leaving the hospital, Felton had asked around and pieced the story together. Even though the official DNA test wasn't done yet, Juniper had seen the photos and matched the details. It was a perfect match. The test was just a formality at this point.
"Say what now?!"
Flint, who had just been riding the high of acting tough, leaped out of his chair in pure terror.
"Ms. Quill is Ms. Payne's sister," Felton enunciated every syllable. "The Boss probably misunderstood and grabbed the wrong person."
