She never expected such a thing to happen in the office. Thankfully, there were no cameras in the office, otherwise it would've been social suicide.
Damian pressed a remote, and the huge floor-to-ceiling windows slowly tinted dark. The door clicked, locking from the inside.
A storm raged outside, while inside, their heat matched its roar.

Isabelle's face flushed as she sat on the other sofa, watching him. He was opening a window to air out the room.
So many questions she wanted to ask.
"Still afraid of me?" Damian looked at Isabelle, who was sitting at the other end of the sofa, sipping coffee from a mug.
Her face was still burning hot. She wasn't sure if it was the aftermath or just shyness under his gaze.
Isabelle stammered, "N-no..."
"No? Doesn't seem like it. Show me that bossy attitude you had yesterday." He thought about her forcing him on that "business trip" yesterday and found it amusing.
When she was drunk, she feared nothing. Sober, she hardly dared face him.
He was swamped with work at the company all day, and with her in bed the moment he got home. Besides bickering with him, the most she ever said was, "Slow down..."
Trying to have a real, normal conversation with him did make her a bit nervous.
A faint, almost imperceptible smile touched his lips as he put his glasses back on and fastened his watch.
"Grandpa doesn't plan to take orders next year. He's putting the shop up for sale. The location is good, has a solid foundation, and fits Diana's criteria. You can take her to see it when you have time."
Isabelle nodded. The tailoring shop's location was excellent, and its reputation was already built. If someone took it over, they could practically hang their shingle and open for business the next day.
They sat in silence for a while. Damian studied her with a scrutinizing look. "What were you and Brian talking about today?"
"Just chatting."
She took a sip of coffee. Damian didn't believe her but didn't press further.
Isabelle wondered if she should ask but ultimately didn't. He's liked me for so many years? His feelings must run deep.
She had to thank Damian for helping her see Gary's true colors so quickly. Otherwise, she might still be in the dark.
But one thing puzzled her. If he started liking her that year... what was the reason? That year, she hardly ever saw him. They had no real interaction.
Besides cooking him terrible meals for a month, I can't think of when I might have caught his eye.
Isabelle took a sip of coffee, silently cursing herself. It's a miracle Damian survived...

At least Damian is decent. Otherwise, Brian would've been in pieces long ago.
