Fated Marriage Spoiled by My Ice Billionaire novel Chapter 162

"Sorry about earlier..." Celeste explained, looking embarrassed.

"It's fine," Damian replied.

Celeste gave an apologetic nod toward Isabelle, who nodded back.

They continued on—the little awkward moment was over.

After finishing lighting candles, everyone headed to the dining hall for communion.

The group gathered together, though now it included Celeste and her parents.

Celeste was chatting quietly with Regina, the two sharing soft smiles now and then.

She had been with Damian since his early startup days—they went way back. Their parents had met later and hit it off.

Theodore whispered nearby that if Damian hadn't suddenly announced his marriage, those two might have been next in line for some family matchmaking pressure.

And the success rate would've been high.

Celeste's parents were academics—both university professors—polished and sensible. Once it became clear the families wouldn't be in-laws, they kept a respectful distance.

Isabelle paused.

No wonder Celeste seemed a bit off when I saw her at the office that time. And later, when we met again, she kept things appropriately distant.

Seems Celeste knows how to handle things with grace.

Just then, Damian flicked her forehead lightly. "Everything you're thinking is written all over your face. I should have the chef make you some fish."

Isabelle frowned, rubbing her forehead as she looked at him.

Honestly, Damian's own romantic history could fill a steamy novel.

"I didn't say anything," she huffed.

Damian didn't hold back with the affectionate gesture, even in front of everyone.

Isabelle lowered her eyes, cheeks warm.

Is this really the same cold, stoic man I used to know? He's being so childish.

Damian said, "You don't need to say it—it's right there on your face."

"I'm not. You're the one with the dirty mind," she muttered firmly toward him.

"How do you know my mind is dirty? Sounds like you're imagining things," Damian retorted.

Isabelle shot back, "Damian, you should ask the priest to say a Mass for you..."

Even though they kept their voices low, those nearby could still catch bits of the conversation.

Theodore stifled a laugh.

Across the table, Celeste and Regina glanced at the newlyweds bickering quietly and smiled without a word.

Isabelle didn't let him off the hook—she picked the greens he hated from her plate and dropped them onto his.

No one else seemed to notice, but Damian's expression darkened.

"Eat up," Isabelle said.

"I should replenish," he said slowly, each word deliberate, meant for her ears only.

If I keep eating like before, I'm going to blow past 121 pounds.

After all, if something were going to happen between her and Damian, it would have by now. And we're married now.

Judging by how Regina and the Cross family treat Celeste, she doesn't seem like much of a threat.
