Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2647

"No, no, that's fine," Mrs. Jordan said quickly. "You just take good care of my Jenny for me. I'll be waiting for you both."

"Of course," Jonas said warmly. "Goodbye, ma'am."

The moment he hung up, Jenny snatched her phone back and took several steps away, staring at him, breathless. "Why did you tell my mom that?"

Jonas stuffed his hands in his pockets, his smile as bright and sunny as ever. "It was obvious you didn't want to go on that date, so I helped you out. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth."

A sharp pain lanced through Jenny’s heart. Tears welled in her eyes. "Who asked for your help?" she snapped. "He's tall, handsome, and I like him! I'm going to go home and marry him!"

She shot him a fierce glare and turned to leave. "Are you insane?"

A quiet voice came from behind her. "I must be. Why else would I like you?"

Jenny’s steps faltered. Her heart skipped a beat. She turned around slowly. "What did you say?"

The playful smile vanished from Jonas’s face. He looked at her, his expression serious. "I said, I like you, Jenny. I like you."

Tears spilled from her eyes and streamed down her cheeks. Her lips trembled. "Are you playing with me again?" she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "Don't joke about things like that. Because... I'll believe you."

Jonas closed the distance between them, placed the gardenias in her arms, and then cupped her tear-stained face in his hands. He leaned down and kissed her.

Jenny instinctively held the flowers as her eyes went wide, forgetting to breathe.

He kissed her deeply, his voice raspy. "I've wanted to do this for a long time."

A deep blush spread across Jenny’s face. Her knees felt weak, and she could barely stand. She couldn't believe what he was saying. "I didn't say yes," she mumbled.

"Then say it now," Jonas urged, pulling back slightly. His eyes, full of brilliant light, burned into hers.
