Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3107

Norah fought desperately to hold it in, but the tears finally spilled over. Her voice was barely a whisper, stripping away every ounce of her pride. "It was my fault last time. I acted impulsively..."

She choked on a sob. "I promise I won't do it again. I won't talk about liking you anymore. I won't make things awkward for you, and I definitely won't touch you. Anything you hate, I'll stop doing."

"Please don't be mad. I'll behave. Just please... please don't use another woman to push me away."

She was in full panic mode. She couldn't fathom why he would suddenly get together with Carol, so she naturally assumed he was still furious over the kiss at Zachary's birthday party last week.

She knew she was losing control of her feelings and crossing boundaries.

Xavier didn't look up, but he knew she was crying. A dull ache throbbed in his chest, yet he ruthlessly kept his eyes averted.

"Norah, why don't you get it? We will never happen!"

"Dragging this out won't change anything."

"I don't care about romance, and I'm not going to fall in love with anyone. I'm with Carol because she's suitable."

Norah's tears flowed even faster. "Are we... not suitable?"

"No, we aren't," he answered firmly, cutting off any hope.

Norah's vision blurred, and the silhouette of the man standing before her warped and distorted. Her heart shattered, her mind in total chaos. She knew she couldn't keep asking.

She loved him so much she'd lost herself in the process, but the last shred of her dignity reminded her that she was a Lamont.

The Lamonts weren't supposed to be this pathetic.

She slowly backed away, tears falling in silent streams. His figure grew fainter through her clouded vision. Finally, she turned around and walked away without looking back.

The wind in the courtyard suddenly felt freezing. The air turned dead quiet, so thin it was hard to breathe.

The man sat on the ground with one knee bent, his eyes hollow. An overwhelming emptiness suddenly gutted his chest.

Coco let out a confused whimper, looking toward the direction Norah had left, then back at Xavier, as if urging him to go chase her down.

Circe nervously padded over to Xavier and hopped onto his leg, staring up at him with reproachful eyes.

For the first time, Xavier didn't irritably brush the kitten away. It was as if all the strength had been drained from his body.
