From His Ex-Wife to the World's Most Sought-After Restorer (Jade and Hudson) novel Chapter 105

Chapter 105 The Confrontation at the Station

Burton looked genuinely regretful at the news.

“Can’t you stay for a few more days?”

“Perhaps another time,” Jade said with a modest smile.

“I have some urgent matters in the capital that require my attention.”

She was desperate to return and finalize the divorce with Hudson before anything else could

go wrong.

The patriarch nodded, not wanting to pressure her. “Business overseas hit a snag, so Julian had to fly out to handle it. Otherwise, he would have insisted on seeing you off personally.”

“He is a busy man; my departure is a minor thing. I wouldn’t dream of troubling him.” Jade checked her watch and smiled.

“Mr. Foster, I’m on a tight schedule and must head back. I’ll make sure to visit you the next time I’m in Harbor City.”

The old man gave her a kind, fatherly wave.

“Take care,

child.”

Jade bowed respectfully to the patriarch and left the estate, returning to her hotel to pack.

Bzz, bzz, bzz-

Her phone on the nightstand suddenly began to vibrate.

She answered, and Julian Foster’s deep voice came through the line.

“Ms. Merchant? I heard you’re catching a flight back to the capital tomorrow morning?”

Jade was surprised he had called her specifically for this, but she responded politely.

“Yes. Something urgent came up, and I need to get back as soon as possible.”

“I see…”

Julian drew out the words thoughtfully.

“I have a business trip to the capital scheduled for next week. Could I book you as my personal guide on short notice?”

Jade agreed without hesitation. “Of course, Julian.”

During her time at the Foster estate, both the patriarch and Julian had treated her with nothing but kindness.

She owed it to him to provide a proper meal and show him the city as a thank you.

“It’s a date, then.”

Perhaps it was the distance of the phone line, but Julian’s voice sounded uncharacteristically gentle.

“I’ll see you in the capital.”

Jade felt a slight heat prickle her ears as she rubbed the tingling sensation away.

“Alright. See you then.”

At the Riverside District villa.

Cindy, Robert, and Chloe Bennett arrived at the front gates of Amara Hoyt’s residence.

Ding-dong… ding-dong… Cindy hammered the doorbell with aggressive energy,

After a long wait, the door finally opened, and Amara peeked out.

“Can I help you—”

Recognizing the group, Amara’s brow furrowed into a deep, defensive scowl.

“Aren’t you Jade’s family? What on earth are you doing here?”

“You have the nerve to speak her name?” Cindy barked, planting her hands on her hips and spitting on the

pavement.

“Stealing a woman’s husband and then living in his villa without a shred of shame? You’re disgusting!”

Amara’s face turned deathly pale.

“I haven’t stolen anyone. Hudson arranged this residence for me… he did it of his own free will. I never forced him.”

“Ha!”

Cindy let out a series of cold, mocking laughs.

“Hudson and Jade are married, which means what’s his is hers! This house belongs to our Jade just as much as him. And since Jade wants her brother to live here, you need to pack your trash

and get out!”

Amara was flushed with humiliation, tears of frustration welling in her eyes.

“Did Jade actually send you here to do this?”

“Who else?”

Cindy tilted her chin up, her response oozing with arrogant certainty. She jabbed a finger at Amara’s face.

“Start packing! Or we’ll be happy to help you move out by force!”

Tears of pure humiliation began to fall as Amara blocked the doorway, refusing to move.

“Hudson gave me this house. Until he comes here personally and tells me to leave, I’m not going anywhere.”

She pulled out her phone. “I’m calling him right now.”

In an instant, Robert lunged forward, snatched the phone from her hand, and hurled it against the floor.

“Going to play the victim? I’m going to teach you how to treat a legal wife today!”

Amara tried to retrieve her phone, but Robert shoved her violently to the side.
