Chapter 159 The Price of Betrayal
He forced himself to swallow the blood and regained a shred of composure. He looked at Jade with forced patience.
“Jade, this is between us. Let’s go home and lk. Tell this outsider to leave.”
Julian heard the commanding tone, then looked at Jade’s haggard face and sharpened chin. A sharp, undeniable pain flared in his chest.
He turned to Hudson, his eyes turning glacial.
“You want her to go home, but have you actually taken care of her? Why is she here alone at dawn, dressed like this? Have you even once asked yourself why?”
“I’m going to say this one more time.” Hudson’s voice dropped an octave.
“This is a family matter. It has nothing to do with you!”
Julian stood his ground in front of Jade, his gaze steady and unwavering.
“Actually, I’m making it my business.”
The coldness in Hudson’s eyes turned to ice. He smirked, his voice dripping with venom.
“I guess what happened abroad wasn’t enough of a lesson for you to back off.”
At those words, Julian’s expression vanished, replaced by an aura of lethal intensity.
“Since you brought it up, let’s settle it here. It saves me a trip.
“I was abroad dealing with an old rival. Everything should have gone smoothly, but someone maliciously leaked my location, causing me to be ambushed. I was lucky to only lose an arm.
“My grandfather is furious. He’s already traced it back to you. I’m here to ask: are you officially declaring war on the Foster family?”
“What if I am?” Hudson admitted it without hesitation, his own presence equally powerful,
“Julian, you might be a king in Harbor City, but id you really think you could do whatever you wanted in my territory?”
A layer of frost covered Julian’s eyes.
“Fine. Then let’s see who’s left standing in the boardroom.”
The air between them crackled with tension.
Like two massive tidal waves crashing into each other, threatening a tsunami.
After a long silence, Hudson’s lips curled, though there was no warmth in his eyes. He tilted his head, his voice filled with arrogance.
“I heard the Foster family is also interested in Harold Robbins’s medical technology venture. It just so happens I am, too. I look forward to seeing what you bring to the table at the Montclair Manor gala in a few days.”
Julian heard the confidence in Hudson’s voice, but his expression didn’t flicker.
“Is that so? What a coincidence. I’m looking forward to your performance as well.”
Hudson let out a cold scoff, shifting his gaze from Julian to Jade.
