"The day she got the abortion, she also threw away the custom wedding ring I'd made for her. When I asked, she said she never planned on keeping the baby, so why would she want our ring?"
His eyes turned bloodshot as he buried his face in his hands, radiating a rare and profound vulnerability.
"I really... I truly never knew Jade could be so heartless. She didn't want my child, and she didn't want my ring."
"And the next step is just getting rid of you, isn't it?"
Charles said coldly, "I don't get it. Jade used to be crazy about you. How did you push her to this point? If you ask me, instead of hurting each other like this, you should just let her go and get a divorce. At least then you won't end up as enemies."
"I never intended to divorce her."
For the first time, Hudson laid his heart bare to someone else.
"Aside from the misunderstandings caused by Amara, we don't have an emotional crisis. I believe we can get back to how things were."
Charles caught the implication in his words. "You want to fix things with Jade? Go back to the old days?"
"Yeah."
Hudson admitted it directly, his usually decisive tone carrying a rare hint of hesitation.
"But I... I don't know what to do. You've got plenty of experience in this area. Can you give me some advice?"
"Well, that's a first," Charles couldn't help but marvel.
"I never thought I'd see the day you'd be asking me for pointers."
Hudson remained silent. He was at his wit's end when it came to Jade, completely out of options.
The image of Jade leaving the theme park with Julian Forster holding the child had triggered him. Otherwise, he wouldn't be this desperate.
"Hmm..."
Charles stroked his chin, thinking seriously.
"If you want to win a girl over, you have to understand what she likes first, right? You'll have a better shot if you play to her interests."
What did Jade like?
Hudson thought about it, but his mind was a complete blank.
In their three years of marriage, Jade had mostly catered to his preferences, rarely showing her own interests.
When he really dug deep, he realized he had no idea what she actually enjoyed.
Charles spoke up, his gaze landing on Hudson's face.
"Got anything?"
Hudson shook his head. "Nothing."
He had zero experience in this department.
Charles let out a heavy sigh. "Then observe her first, then play to her interests."
Hudson caught the gist of it. "I'll try that."

After finishing her business, Jade tapped on the photos Silas had sent her.
Edward had designed his lounge himself.
The display cabinets, bookshelves, tables, and chairs were all made of high-quality walnut.
Between the dark walnut sections, antique crystal carafes were placed as accents.
At the moment, Edward was sitting at the table brewing some specialty coffee, the rich aroma drifting through the air.
The room felt sophisticated and full of character.
Jade pulled back her observant gaze and sat opposite Edward.
"Master, you wanted to see me?"
Edward poured a cup of coffee and pushed it toward her. "Try it."
Jade took a small sip, the intense aroma spreading across her palate, instantly refreshing her mind.
"It's got a great finish. This blend is excellent."
"You know the stuff."
Edward chuckled. "This was a gift from Burton when I was in Habor City. I felt like having a taste today."
Jade smiled along. "The Forsters certainly have some fine collections."
Edward took a sip of his coffee, then set it down, his expression becoming a bit more serious. "Jade, have you ever thought about opening your own studio?"
The smile vanished from Jade's face instantly, replaced by a look of panic. "Master, did I do something wrong?"
