His Housewife Had Secret Identities novel Chapter 654

"Hello?"

"Mr. Thomas, we have a problem…" Prescott's opening line made Jonathan's brow furrow.

"The Juvenile Rehabilitation Center's system has been destroyed."

"What?"

"The center was hit by intruders. They didn't just wipe the system's data—they killed a senior administrator."

Prescott's words brought a flicker of shock and confusion to Jonathan's eyes. If the goal was simply to destroy the system, there was no need to kill anyone. They could have hired a hacker or used a virus; there were countless ways to do it. But they had chosen the most extreme and dangerous method, which could only mean one thing: the person responsible enjoyed killing and was very good at it. An image of a particular person instantly surfaced in Jonathan's mind.

Coralis, The Vipers' Nest headquarters. Joker slid a USB drive into his laptop, reviewing the information he'd copied from the Juvenile Rehabilitation Center's system. He held a gun in one hand and a cigarette dangled from his lips. As the contents on the screen confirmed his suspicions, a vicious grin spread across his face.

Back at the hospital, Niamh and Lana had reconciled.

As he left the hospital, Elmer noticed Jonathan's car still parked in the lot.

"What are you still doing here?" Elmer asked as he approached, seeing the cigarette between Jonathan's fingers. "I'm warning you, don't go up there and bother Nia. She and Lana are finally having a good moment. It's a heart-to-heart between two friends; no men allowed."

As he spoke, Elmer noticed the numerous cigarette butts on the ground beneath the car. Jonathan must have smoked them all. It was the first time he had ever seen Jonathan smoke so much. He wondered if it had something to do with that Juvenile Rehabilitation Center.

Jonathan noticed Elmer wasn't leaving and let out a cold laugh. "What's this, Dr. White? Did you switch careers and become a traffic cop? My car is legally parked. A real cop would have nothing to say."
