His Housewife Had Secret Identities novel Chapter 733

At critical moments, human instinct can be terrifyingly accurate. Niamh spun around, her face paling at the sight of the "doctor" who had materialized in her path.

"Jarrett?!"

Lana saw him too and flinched, a shiver running through her body. Joker narrowed his eyes, the smile on his boyish face looking perpetually innocent.

Lana immediately spread her arms, shielding Niamh behind her. Joker raised an eyebrow, his smile turning into a cold sneer.

"What's this? Playing the part of loyal best friends now? You didn't seem so sentimental when you planted a virus on her computer for me."

Joker's taunt made Lana flush with anger and shame. "You tricked me!"

"Heh!" Joker let out a scornful laugh. "The fact that you fell for it just proves how stupid you are."

"Jarrett!" Lana gritted her teeth, then shook her head. "No, you killed the real Jarrett. You're Joker, from the syndicate!"

While Lana confronted him, Niamh, hidden behind her, secretly tried to dial the police on her phone.

Crack!

A bullet shattered the phone in her hand, grazing her palm. Niamh gasped in shock. Lana was just as stunned. Both of them stared at Joker, who was now holding a pistol fitted with a silencer. The dark muzzle was pointed right at them.

Lana began to tremble uncontrollably.

Niamh immediately stepped forward. "Nia…" Lana grabbed her arm, but Niamh gently patted her back.

Seeing the deep confusion on her face, Joker let out a series of bell-like laughs that sounded utterly terrifying in the silent hospital corridor. Goosebumps erupted on both Niamh's and Lana's skin.

"You thought I came here to kill you?" Joker asked. Niamh didn't answer.

"Don't flatter yourself. I'm here to visit a patient."

He said it so casually that Niamh couldn't tell if he was lying, but she didn't lower her guard. "Who are you visiting?"

"I'm not telling you," Joker grinned, showing his teeth, and slowly turned around. "Don't worry. When he wakes up… I'll come back to kill you."

With that parting shot, Joker vanished from their sight.
