His Housewife Had Secret Identities novel Chapter 801

At The Melody Grill & Bar, Wade and Flynn had been nursing their beers for over two hours. The conversation was flowing more freely than the alcohol, with Flynn doing most of the talking. In his experience, Wade was a man of few words, so to keep the atmosphere from turning cold, Flynn decided to bare his soul first, recounting his own story.

When he got to the part about losing a client because of his messy love life, he finally struck a chord with Wade. Wade, unlike Flynn, was a naturally more restrained person. Of course, after becoming a prominent lawyer, he'd had his share of shady dealings behind the scenes, but he figured that no industry was ever purely black and white. He didn't think Flynn's mistakes were all that egregious.

"So you left Aldonia, went to Whispering Island, and started working for Niamh?" Flynn wasn't surprised to hear Niamh's name come from Wade's lips, nor did he have any intention of hiding his new allegiance. "You got that right! If Niamh hadn't taken me in, my career would've been toast."

"And to repay her, you deliberately asked me out tonight to pump me for information?" Hearing Wade's directness, Flynn scratched the back of his head and gave a wry smile. "You don't have to be so blunt about it, do you?" Wade smirked back. "Just as Niamh gave you a second chance, the Quinn family once took a chance on me. I'm not going to betray them."

Seeing Wade's earnest and resolute expression, Flynn didn't press the issue. He simply raised his beer bottle and clinked it against Wade's. "Why so serious? Come on, drink up." Wade watched Flynn take a swig and followed suit, though he was already regretting his decision to come.
