His Housewife Had Secret Identities novel Chapter 827

Niamh was completely stunned. For a moment, she even forgot to resist.

The air in the bedroom seemed to ignite, growing hot and heavy, making her throat feel parched. She couldn't believe she was standing before Jonathan, exposed in just her bra.

His gaze never left her face, fixed on her with that same, unyielding anger. Ordinarily, Niamh would have cursed him for being a creep, but tonight, weighed down by her own guilty conscience, she couldn't muster a single word of protest.

The temperature in the room continued to climb. Bare from the waist up, Niamh didn’t feel cold at all; instead, she felt uncomfortably hot.

Just as she reached to cover herself, Jonathan’s large hand came down, pushing her face-down onto the bed. She landed with her back to him.

The moment his furious eyes landed on the ugly mark on her back, the anger was instantly replaced by a wave of intense heartache. He opened his mouth, taking a few shaky breaths. In the end, he said nothing. He simply picked up the ointment the doctor had prescribed and began to apply it to her wound with gentle, careful strokes.

Niamh let out a quiet sigh of relief. It seemed he only wanted to treat her injury.

Jonathan, of course, noticed her sudden relaxation.

“What, did you think I was going to take advantage of you?” His voice, laced with a hint of amusement, came from behind her.

“You’ve done it plenty of times before…” Niamh couldn’t help but mutter.

But Niamh’s perspective was completely different. This “unexpected” incident had played right into her hands. Wade’s history, friendship, and intimacy with Ramona far outweighed his connection to her. Even with their falling out, getting him to hand over the real will would have been a challenge.

Niamh had been searching for a more direct way to make Wade give up on Ramona completely when, conveniently, Jonathan had to leave Coralis on business. Niamh was certain Quincy would use this opportunity to strike at her. His life was a mess, with negative press swirling and his own wife publicly exposing him. It would be strange if he didn’t hold a grudge against her and Jonathan. And between the two of them, she was the much easier target, especially when she was alone. For Quincy, it was a golden opportunity.

Then, as if on cue, Wade had called her. She realized she could use Quincy's inevitable retaliation to her advantage. Before meeting Wade, she had her bodyguards do some quiet surveillance and, sure enough, they discovered Quincy’s thugs were tailing her every move.

Niamh went to the meeting alone. She knew Quincy's men would follow her all the way to the Queensgate Pier.
