His Plump Mate (by Buchanan) novel Chapter 477

Chapter 477

Kaia POV

After breakfast, Isaiah and I went to see Dr. Moreno. Thalia and Aiden are going tomorrow since they just had an ultrasound at Crossfang.

When we got to the pack hospital, the nurses smiled at us and one side-eyed me. I don’t know what that was about, but I move on. All the flavors in the world, and she is choosing salty. Her aura is giving off jealousy. Oh well, too bad.

Isaiah grabs my hand, and then I feel anger radiating from the nurse. She clearly has a thing for Isaiah.

Does he know?

“Do you know that nurse?” I asked.

He turned around, and she blushed. Yeah, she is jealous of me because Isaiah is my mate.

“Yeah, she has tended to me a time or two after battles. Why?”

“She likes you,” I said as we went into the exam room.

Isaiah smirked, “Jealous?”

“No, but she is,” I scoffed.

“And you know this how?”

“Her aura is green with envy. Then that energy turned jealous.”

“Are you using your gift on pack members?”

“Not intentionally. Truth be told, I don’t know how to turn it on or off at will,” I said.

Isaiah smirked, “We can work on that. Seriously, though, I have no interest in any other woman except my Luna and the mother of my pup.”

I smiled at him and wrapped my arms around his neck. “Did you think all of this would happen so quickly?”

“No. I never had being an Alpha of a different pack in my sights. This is all the Moon Goddess’s doing… with the help of a little troublemaker I know.”

Dr. Moreno walks in and smiles at both of us. “Congratulations, I hear, are in order. Alpha Isaiah and

Luna Kaia.”

I smiled brightly. “Wasn’t it you who said the humans you witnessed in the past went on to do great things? I hope to live up to the spirit of that conversation, Dr. Moreno.”

It makes me wonder idly what will happen with Sinclair. We still need to talk about the ranked team. I would love it if Sinclair came with us and was our beta.

“So you believe you are pregnant, Luna?” Dr. Moreno asked.

“I took a pregnancy test, and it came out positive,” I replied.

“Okay, let’s get some blood work done to confirm,” He said.

Who drew blood from me and said he would be back in fifteen minutes with the results. I take the time to

talk to Isaiah about Sinclair.

“We have to choose a ranked team, right?” I asked, kicking off this conversation.

Isaiah sighed. I think he is stressed about it, which I guess I can’t blame him, considering it is all happening so fast.

“Yeah. I don’t know who to ask. I was thinking about Rodrigo, but he has his own life in the human world.”

“What about Sinclair? Do you think she could be beta?”

Isaiah smirked at me, “It’s not a bad idea, but I don’t know if she will want the role. It would mean training warriors and being second in command. It’s a lot of responsibility, and she has been pretty adamant about finding her parents first.”

“What if we helped her find her parents? After she finishes finding them, she can take her place full-time as our beta. She could even be in charge of all the IT stuff,” I replied.

“It would be easier if she were mated to someone who would make a good beta. She could run IT, and then her mate could run training, and they would work together to run the pack when we are not there,”

Isaiah said.

“A woman can’t do it by herself?” I asked, challenging him.

“That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying that I don’t get the feeling that Sinclair wants to shoulder that kind of responsibility. If she were mated, she could shoulder the parts she loves, and her mate could shoulder the rest. Plus, do we even know if she would leave Blackstone and follow us to Ironclaw?”

“We should talk to her when we get back,” I said.

“We have to go to the council to finalize the ownership of Ironclaw after this appointment. Let’s talk to her tonight.”

As soon as we finish agreeing, Dr. Moreno walks in. “Well, Luna, you are pregnant.”

I beamed as I looked at Isaiah, who was grinning widely, and I swear he has the sexiest damn smile ever. It’s definitely filling me with desire, and I think Isaiah senses it in our bond because he smirks at me and

then winks.

‘Later,’ he said. That one word is filled with so much promise.

“How about we get an ultrasound done and confirm how far along you are, Luna.”

I start bouncing in my seat, “Okay!”

Isaiah chuckled, “Excited, are we?”

“Very!”

I hop on the bed and lie back. I lift my stomach, and Dr. Moreno chuckles. “Bring your pants down a little lower, Luna.”

Once I do, he squeezes gel on my belly. I’ve seen how this is done in documentaries and videos when I was in school. I know what to expect.

Dr. Moreno grabbed the wands and started moving them along my belly. Then we hear the swooshing and fluttering of a heartbeat. I’m so excited that I grabbed Isaiah’s hand as he listened in wonder.

Dr. Moreno furrows his eyebrows, though. I start getting concerned. “What’s wrong, Dr. Moreno?”

He raises one finger, signaling me to hold on. He closes his eyes and turns his head slightly, concentrating on the sound of the heartbeat. I gripped Isaiah’s hand, who was looking intently at Dr.

Moreno’s actions.

When he opens his eyes, he says, “Let me see if I can get a clear picture of the heart beating.”

“What are you suspecting?” I asked.

“I think I hear a heart murmur. I want to rule it out.”

“What does that mean for our pup?” Isaiah asked, clearly, he sounds worried.

“It could mean a number of different things, Alpha Isaiah. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, though.”

As he continues looking at the ultrasound, I feel my anxiety going up. Isaiah looked at me and pushed calm into our bond. He is helping me when he is also upset.
