Chapter 483
Isaiah POV
I know my mate is trouble, but she is also a force. She likes seeing everyone around her happy. She wasn’t wrong when she said she was colorful. She is, and being in a dreary place like Ironclaw is the kind of project she is clearly going to thrive in.
We are talking to the omegas, and they are asking all kinds of questions. There are a lot of lies and rumors being spread about Blackstone here. We took the better part of an hour talking to everyone and
answering their questions.
By the time we were done talking to them, it was lunchtime. Everyone looked much more relaxed. Then the omega named Sheri asked Kaia, “Luna, we haven’t been allowed to plant flowers since Alpha Paul became Alpha. He said it wasn’t in the budget. Do you know if the finances are bad? Are we in jeopardy of being pack-less?”
Kaia looked at me, and I responded, “First, your Luna is a very colorful personality. I already know that her teeth itch in the dreary environment. Second, we just got here. I need a few days to get up to speed with everything here. As soon as I see the finances, I will hold a pack meeting and give everyone the transparency you have clearly not been getting.”
Kaia then spoke, “I don’t want anyone to worry about finances for now. Let us get settled in, and we promise to let everyone know the health of the pack and what adjustments we will need to make…if any.”
I hear Kaia’s stomach growl, and I look at the omegas sitting in the room with us, “I would appreciate getting some lunch for your Luna. She needs extra care. She is carrying my pup,” I said with a smile.
Kaia smiled widely at the announcement and at the omegas’ faces. All the women, especially the younger ones, were smiling and excited.
Sheri then spoke, “Are you craving anything, Luna?”
“I want Italian Sausage with lots of grilled green peppers, caramelized onions, and mustard. Oh, and strawberry milk.”
I felt nauseous just listening to that combination. “I see why Aiden said I should keep nausea pills with me. That’s a gross combination, trouble.”
“That sounds delicious, stickler.”
The group looks at both of us and starts laughing. They are definitely more at ease.
“Luna, why don’t you go up and rest. We can bring you your meal. Alpha, would you like anything?”
“Something easy. A sandwich and chips are fine with me,” I said.
They leave in much better spirits than they did when they walked in. As soon as everyone left, Kaia and I stood up. I scooped her up in my arms, and she squealed.
“Isaiah!”
“Kaia!”
She laughed as I carried her through the pack house and up to our room. When we got there, I put her down gently and wrapped my arms around her. I kissed her passionately, and she surrendered so
sweetly to me.
