“Ugh… don’t say it. Now that you mention it, it sounds even more lame. Who wants to listen to a bunch of debutantes putting on a talent show?”
The one with green hair rubbed his face. “Especially with that whole crowd of phonies trying to act all gentlemanly. All of them dressed to the nines, holding their wine glasses and pretending to be successful.”
“Do they really think that just because Brianna is coming of age today, they’ll have a shot at catching her eye and marrying into the Blackwood family?”
The yellow-haired one laughed. “Everyone knows Brianna has a thing for charity cases. She’s all about that loser from the Keller family! After today, the Kellers are probably going to be celebrating.”
The green-haired one sighed and looked at the red-haired youth. “Rhett, I don’t know how your cousin could be so blind. That loser Brandon Keller… who knows what he gets up to behind her back. And your cousin treats him like a treasure.”
“All those rich guys hoping to become the Blackwood son-in-law are in for a disappointment today. Miss Blackwood will probably announce her family’s alliance with the Kellers,” the green-haired one sighed. “Whatever, why are we even talking about her? Rhett is just her cousin. Her own brother doesn’t care, so why should we?”
“So boring… a street race would be more exciting!” the red-haired youth said, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his ripped jeans. “Let’s just wait for the cake, make an appearance, and then ditch this place. It’s completely dead… Huh? What’s going on over there?”
The red-haired youth stopped, tilting his head to look toward the gazebo.
The others followed his gaze.
They saw two men in chef’s uniforms surrounding a girl in a red dress.
Another girl in a white dress was standing nearby, filming with her phone.
“Whoa, what kind of game is this?” the yellow-haired one exclaimed. “This is Blackwood territory. Who dares to pull something like this here?”
It was obviously some kind of twisted female rivalry.
