Isabella clenched her fists so hard her knuckles turned white.
She hated Serena with a burning passion.
Why did she have to show up at this exact moment?
Why did she always have to deliberately target her?
Serena knew that treating Mr. Hank was her only chance to redeem herself.
So she just had to show off her medical skills, had to try and outdo her in every single way!
She just had to flaunt everything, to show off at every opportunity.
Would she only be satisfied once she had thoroughly beaten her down in front of their family?
Agnes was right.
Country bumpkins were full of tricks and schemes.
The angrier Isabella became, the more gentle and innocent her expression grew.
She dug her nails into her palms and spoke, her voice laced with that same feigned innocence. “Serena, I know you want to compete with me over everything… but first aid is no joke. You’re going to get Mr. Hank killed…”
Serena completely ignored their noise. Without even batting an eye, she placed the pill in his mouth.
Karen wanted to rush forward and stop her, but the sight of the tall, elegant figure standing guard made her lose her nerve.
All she could do was shout desperately at Mr. Hank’s entourage. “Aren’t you going to stop her?! Serena, if anything happens to Mr. Hank, can you take responsibility for it?!”
“Cough… cough, cough!”
Suddenly, a series of harsh coughs broke the tension.
Hank, who had been convulsing on the ground with a bluish-purple face, slowly opened his eyes after the pill dissolved. His eyelids fluttered for a moment before focusing.
In the few seconds it took for the medicine to take effect, the purple hue on Mr. Hank’s face faded at a visible rate.
Though he was still pale, a faint hint of color returned to his cheeks.
The rise and fall of his chest gradually became steady and strong.
