Black Jack scanned the garage, looking for an inconspicuous car to steal.
Even though he was trussed up, the man who was tied up still looked effortlessly noble and relaxed.
He shuffled along behind Black Jack and offered a helpful suggestion, "Just tying my wrists is fine. Use a slipknot; it'll be more comfortable."
Black Jack shot back, "You're the one being kidnapped. Could you stop making so many demands?"
"Let's take my car. The key is in my left jacket pocket. Need me to get it for you?" Nicholas’s thin lips curved into a smile.
Black Jack was speechless.
Honestly, in all her years in the business, this was the first time she had encountered a hostage who was so cooperative, even proactive.
He was completely ruining the kidnapping vibe!
"You! Shut up!" Black Jack felt her professionalism was being challenged and let out a cold, irritated snort.
She snatched the car key from Nicholas's pocket.
After quickly finding Nicholas's car, Black Jack opened the door and shoved Nicholas inside.
The man was very compliant, even bending down to get into the back seat on his own.
Black Jack pulled out a black cloth.
Nicholas glanced at the black cloth. "Is this part of the script? Fine."
He leaned forward willingly, allowing Black Jack to blindfold him.
The car quickly pulled out of the garage.
Blindfolded, Nicholas leaned back lazily against the seat. "Miss Hazel, where are you taking me? A victim has a right to know, don't you think?"
Black Jack was speeding, but her voice remained calm. "You're not going to die."
She stated flatly, "You're a gift for my dear Serena."
Nicholas paused.
A gift?
Under the blindfold, he raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint in his eyes, and suddenly burst out laughing. "You should have said so earlier. I would have showered first. Or... you could tell me, what’s Serena’s 'taste' in men these days?"
Black Jack's hand trembled, and the car swerved into an S-shape on the road.
Her fingers tightened on the steering wheel, then loosened, then tightened again.
She suddenly wondered... maybe this gift wasn't the right choice after all.
