No!
She was already walking on thin ice within the Lancaster family.
If they misunderstood her involvement in this...
Panic seized Isabella's chest. She scrambled out of bed, stumbling wildly toward her vanity.
The reflection staring back at her was ashen and rigid, her hair a messy bird's nest, her eyes bloodshot.
She certainly looked sick.
But it wasn't enough!
Grabbing a makeup wipe, she scrubbed at her eyes, desperately trying to fade the glaring, furious redness brought on by her rage.
Then, she aggressively patted her cheeks.
Draining whatever faint traces of color remained until her face and lips looked entirely bloodless.
Once she was satisfied with her pitiful appearance.
Isabella grabbed a cardigan, draping it loosely to look as fragile as possible, and forced herself to limp out of her room.
The moment she reached the top of the stairs, the excited, shocked chatter of the Lancaster family drifted up from the living room.
"I still can't believe it. Serena is actually the legendary Master Queen!" That was Catherine Vinton's voice.
"Hahaha, I always said my precious granddaughter was a genius! Nothing can stop her!" Old Mr. Lancaster boasted, his tone overflowing with pride. "She's Queen! The founder of a top-tier international luxury brand! She wasn't even fifteen when she built the Queen Group! To be perfectly honest, even this old man feels inadequate compared to her!"
Edward Lancaster let out a booming laugh. "It's absolutely incredible. That kid is way too impressive! Is there anything she can't do?"
"Serena is a true prodigy... If we had never lost her, she would be... she would surely be..." Catherine choked up.
A genius like her, unloved by the Wynn family, forced to endure so much hardship in the countryside since childhood, and yet she still managed to achieve such greatness.
If Serena had grown up in the Lancaster family, nurtured with all their resources...
She would never have suffered so much!
That bumpkin! If she grew up in the middle of nowhere, why couldn't she just act like a grateful peasant?
Why did she have to crush Isabella in absolutely everything?
She had already lost to Serena on the piano.
And now, the very jewelry brand she was so incredibly proud of was being trampled under Serena's boots.
Aurevion Jewelers didn't even qualify to be mentioned in the same breath as the Queen Group.
Driven mad by the humiliation, Isabella's knees buckled. With a heavy thud, she crashed into the wooden banister.
The lively chatter downstairs died instantly.
One by one, their gazes snapped up toward her.
"Isabella?" Catherine immediately stood up. "Why are you out of bed? We told you to get plenty of rest. If you needed anything, you could have just called for a maid."
Swaying weakly on her feet, Isabella forced a tragic, fragile smile for her mother.
