Why would Douglas share such a massive secret with Serena?
Isabella was consumed by toxic jealousy.
How was she inferior to Serena?
Why did everyone constantly take Serena's side?
Why was Serena so lucky to always have someone shielding her?
They had been so close... so close to crushing Serena's pride once and for all!
Isabella's jealousy spiraled out of control. She completely ignored the truth...
Serena was standing there unscathed purely because of her own overwhelming skills.
Instead, Isabella attributed everything to Douglas keeping her safe.
In a way, Isabella was truly trapped in her own delusional mindset, assuming every woman relied on a man to succeed.
The crowd cowered on the ground.
Douglas didn't even bother looking at them. He kept the cigarette between his lips, raised an eyebrow, and looked at Serena. "Satisfied?"
Serena curled her red lips into a haughty smile. "It'll do."
Douglas found her arrogant attitude incredibly endearing.
He smirked, letting out a low chuckle. "It's an honor to meet your standards."
Serena answered without missing a beat, "Glad you know. Consider it a privilege."
Douglas's laughter deepened, softening his usually sharp, dangerous features. "Since you're praising me, I suppose I should clean up this mess properly for you."
He turned his gaze back to Augus. His playful expression vanished, replaced by a predatory coldness.
"Cornering Serena in a race? Trying to use gang tactics? And backing out of a bet when you lose?"
His words were spoken with a smile.
But it made Augus's scalp tingle with pure dread.
"I wouldn't dare!" Augus was on the verge of wetting himself, tears streaming down his face. "I'll pay the money! Every single cent! I won't short her a penny! I was stupid, I deserve to die!"
He started slapping himself viciously across the face.
