Her slender fingers tapped across her phone screen. "I actually found some other interesting things."
Anna's hysterical screaming choked off instantly. She stared at Serena with wide, terrified eyes.
What was this bitch planning now?
The large monitor flickered again.
This time, it wasn't security footage.
Instead, a series of detailed digital files and documents cascaded across the screen.
"This is..." Silas stared at the documents, his pupils constricting sharply.
"In March of this year, embezzled five million dollars from a Vinton Group subsidiary and transferred it to an offshore account."
"Embezzled another two million dollars from the subsidiary into an unknown account."
"Hired local thugs to assault a classmate, resulting in permanent disability. Paid hush money, ultimately forcing multiple students to drop out."
"Conspired with Augus at the racetrack to corner a debt-ridden driver into signing a Lethal Liability Waiver. Resulted in two fatalities and one case of permanent paralysis."
...
Crime after crime.
They were meticulously listed alongside irrefutable evidence—bank transfers, chat logs, and surveillance clips.
Even threatening text messages Anna had sent years ago had somehow been unearthed and plastered across the screen.
Any single one of these documents was enough to put Anna behind bars for a very long time.
The crowd stared at Anna in absolute horror.
Was this really a wealthy heiress? A socialite?
She was a demon wearing human skin!
Anna stared at the chain of evidence, her face draining of all color until it matched a corpse.
It was over.
"Douglas, freeze all her accounts."
"Call the police and hand over this evidence. Let her rot in prison for the rest of her life. If it warrants the death penalty, so be it."
Douglas raised an eyebrow. "Done."
He decisively pulled out his phone and dialed the authorities.
"Dad!"
Hearing him order the police, and watching Douglas actually make the call, pushed Anna completely over the edge. "You're sending me to prison?! I'm your daughter! You can't do this to me!"
"Who do you think I did all of this for? Dad, it was for you! This is all your fault!"
She glared at Silas, her tear-filled eyes wild and ferocious. "Who told you to bring me into this world if you weren't going to take responsibility? All you ever did was work! You just threw money at me! You never cared about me! You never loved me!"
"Why do you think I did all those things? I just wanted your attention! I wanted my father's love! Am I wrong? No! You're the one who's wrong! It's you!"
"You forced me to become like this!"
