"No... that's not it..."
Isabella knew she absolutely could not admit to it now.
No matter what, she couldn't confess that she was the cause of all this.
She collapsed onto the floor, sobbing uncontrollably, and scrambled over to Silas.
"It wasn't me... it really wasn't me!"
"Grandpa, Grandma, listen to me, I was tricked! I'm a victim too!"
"I... I truly didn't know things would turn out like this. It was Agnes! Agnes put me up to it!"
"She told me to do it. She said if I just followed her instructions, Grandpa and Grandma would love me again..."
"I had no idea she would actually hire mercenaries. I thought they were just ordinary actors. I thought the guns were fake..."
"I was deceived. I've just felt so cast aside lately, and I wanted Grandma and Grandpa to look at me again. I lost my mind... I lost my mind and agreed to her plan."
"I never, ever wanted to hurt you."
"Grandma, you watched me grow up. How could I ever harm you? Agnes tricked me..."
She sobbed, turning to Serena and pleading desperately. "Serena, believe me, I never wanted to hurt you. It was all Agnes! She instigated everything and even told me to steal The Heart of the Sea to frame you. I... I don't know why I listened to her. I know I was wrong. I know I was wrong..."
Tears streamed down her face. She didn't completely deny her involvement, but she threw all the dirty water onto Agnes.
She acted as if she were just an innocent girl corrupted by a wicked servant.
Silas's expression was icy as he kicked her away.
He looked down at the niece who had once seemed well-behaved but now looked absolutely repulsive. He felt not a single shred of pity.
"Silas, it was really Agnes... She orchestrated everything! Check it yourself if you don't believe me! Look into it! You'll find out she did it all, it was all Agnes..." Isabella was kicked to the ground but still struggled fiercely to get up, trying to grab Silas's leg.
"Enough."
