My Husband's Affair My Anniversary Gift (Lily and David) novel Chapter 341

No matter how much Riyana tried to understand it, her mind refused to work. The thoughts were there, loud and messy, but they did not make sense. Everything felt unreal, like she was walking inside someone else’s life.

When she returned home, she did not even change her clothes. She closed the door behind her, leaned her back against it for a few seconds, and then slowly slid down until she was sitting on the floor. Her legs felt weak. Her body felt tired in a way sleep could not fix.

She stood up after a while and walked to the bedroom. The room looked the same as always, neat and quiet, but she felt like a stranger inside it. She lay down on the bed and stared at the ceiling. Her hands rested on her stomach without her even realizing it.

Pregnant.

The word still felt heavy. It scared her, but at the same time, something deep inside her felt warm and protective. She did not know how both feelings could exist together, but they did.

She did not know what she was going to do next. Her mind jumped again and again to one person.

Jabco.

What would his reaction be if he found out?

She tried to imagine his face. His eyes. His voice.

The thought made her chest tighten.

She did not want to know.

She really did not.

But there was no running from it. This was not something she could hide forever.

Time passed slowly. She did not know how long she stayed on the bed, staring, thinking, stopping herself from crying. The sound of the door opening later made her heart jump.

Jabco was home.

She sat up, her hands shaking slightly. Her mouth felt dry. She heard his footsteps, steady and firm, coming closer.

He entered the room and stopped when he saw her sitting there, silent, pale.

“What’s wrong?” he asked, his tone sharp, already annoyed.

She opened her mouth but no words came out at first. She swallowed and took a deep breath.

“There’s something I need to tell you,” she said quietly.

That was when his face changed. He frowned, impatience clear in his eyes.

“What now?” he said.

Her fingers tightened on the bedsheet.

“I… I’m pregnant.”

The room went silent.

For a second, she almost hoped he did not hear her.

Then his voice came, loud and angry. Not shocked. Not confused. Angry.

“What are you saying? Pregnant?”

“Yes,” she nodded, her voice shaking. “I went to the hospital. I got checked.”

Jabco ran his hands through his hair, walking back and forth like the walls were closing in on him.

“This can’t be,” he muttered, breathing hard.

Riyana watched him with fear in her eyes.

She had expected anger, but this… this was worse than she imagined.

“We are married,” she said softly. “I don’t think it’s wrong.”

“Not wrong?” he snapped, turning to her suddenly. His eyes burned. “You think this is not wrong?”

She flinched at his tone.

“I haven’t told my family,” he continued, his voice rising. “Do you even know how my brother and sister are? They will use this against me. They will turn this into a game. They will try to pull me down. I can’t afford to break right now.”

He looked furious, frustrated, trapped.

Riyana felt tears fill her eyes, but she refused to let them fall.

She had known he would say something like this. That was why she did not want him to know in the first place.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Her hands slowly turned into tight fists as she tried to calm herself.
