"What do we do? There isn't even a window. This door is the only way out."
"Wait. Let me listen for anyone outside."
Elena knocked lightly on the door. No one came.
It seemed there were no guards posted at the door.
The kidnappers probably assumed that since they were on a boat in the middle of the ocean and the captives were just girls, escape was impossible.
So they didn't bother with a guard.
Michelle tugged at the handle. "It won't open! It must be locked from the outside!"
"Let me. Move aside."
Elena rummaged through the room. Eventually, she found a hairpin in a drawer.
A woman must have stayed in this room before.
Using the hairpin, she fiddled with the lock core.
*Click!*
The door opened.
"Wow! Elena, that's amazing! You actually opened it!" Michelle whispered in astonishment.
"Let's go!"
Elena pulled Michelle along as they quietly slipped out.
Although this boat wasn't as large as the yacht, it was still substantial.
Luckily it was night, making it easier for them to sneak around undetected.
Suddenly, a patrol was approaching ahead.
Elena quickly pulled Michelle into hiding.
"This way, quick!"
They crouched down, waiting for the patrol to pass before moving again.
"What if they catch us? Elena, I'm so scared. What are we going to do?" Michelle asked worriedly.
She had never experienced anything like this. It felt like a scene from a movie.
Danger was everywhere.
"Don't be afraid. The more dangerous it is, the calmer you need to be. Listen to me, and we'll get out of here."
