"Nothing, Mom. I'm just going to miss you. If only I had met you sooner." Elena smiled.
Inside, however, she was weeping.
If she had met the Whelan family sooner, she wouldn't have been so lonely.
No one in the Sterling family had ever cared for her. She had always thought she wasn't good enough—that her parents didn't like her because she wasn't a boy.
Her five brothers were doted on by their parents, while she was the only one sent away to the countryside.
"Alright now, travel safely."
"I will."
Reluctantly, Elena left home and hailed a cab, heading directly for Silvercrest State. She should arrive at her destination by tomorrow morning.

The next day.
Dylan's head felt incredibly heavy. When he woke up, he found Isabella sitting by his side.
He quickly pulled up the quilt, looking at her defensively.
"Why are you in my room?"
Isabella smiled. "Are you that afraid of me? What are you nervous about? I just heard you got drunk last night, so I came to check on you."
"Get out!" Dylan said sternly.
"Dylan, don't be so mean. You weren't like this before!" Isabella said, looking wronged.
"I said get out! I need to get up and change. Or do you want to watch a man change clothes? Does the dignified Miss Bennett have a voyeuristic streak?"
"Fine, change your clothes. I'm leaving." Isabella stood up and walked out.
Dylan took a shower and changed into fresh clothes. Just then, his phone rang.
"Dylan, we've made contact with the people on that side. They are currently in Silvercrest State and have asked us to come over for a talk. Do you want to go?"
"Yes. Prepare the private jet. I'm leaving now."
He was in a terrible mood. Getting away for a while would be good.
It was the perfect excuse to escape this place.
