"Boss... Boss..." Sean murmured in his drunken sleep.
Jane frowned. "Mr. Maddox, who are you calling?"
"Boss... Boss..."
This time, Jane heard it clearly.
It was "Boss"!
She was confused. Who was the "Boss" Sean was calling?
Even when drunk, he was still mumbling about this person.
Could it be a man? Usually, "Boss" referred to a man, right?
Does Mr. Maddox like men?
Jane was startled and pulled her hand back.
She noticed he was tightly gripping something in his hand. She looked closer and saw it was a stone.
It was a strange stone, looking completely ordinary.
This wasn't the first time she had seen it. Previously, when she went to his office, she accidentally saw Sean contemplating while holding the stone.
At the time, she thought he was into uncut gemstones or something similar.
But to hold onto it even while drunk meant it was very important to him.
Could it really have been a gift from a man?
Their Mr. Maddox liked men!
Jane felt she had discovered a massive secret.
It was possible Bianca was just a beard, and he actually liked men!
Jonathan paused. "What did you say? Bianca isn't home yet?"
"Exactly. She's invisible all day. Dad, did the company work very late tonight?" Gloria asked.
"No, there wasn't much going on at the company; we got off early. A girl not coming home at midnight? What a disgrace! She's becoming more and more unruly!" Jonathan was predictably angry.
Kate and Gloria glanced at each other, revealing triumphant expressions.
"Honey, don't blame Bianca too much. After all, she just returned to the Fairchild family. She's used to running wild outside all these years. Her biological mother probably didn't teach her well. Don't worry, from now on, I'll keep an eye on her and get her back on the right track! Otherwise, if a girl continues like this, how will she ever get married? We can't let her shame the Fairchild family."
"Fine, call her right now and ask where she is!" Jonathan's temper flared inexplicably.
Gloria quickly handed him a cup of tea. "Dad, have some tea. Don't be angry, watch your health!"
Jonathan looked at Gloria and sighed. "Gloria is still the best. Obedient and sensible, never making me worry. By the way, how is your arm?"
Gloria paused for a second before saying, "Dad, my arm is fine. The doctor said it just needs time to recover."
