Reborn Fake Heiress Watch the Whole Family Burn novel Chapter 585

Elena looked at Mark. She hadn't expected him to balloon up like a pig in the few years since she'd seen him.

"Long time no see," Elena said flatly.

Mark flashed a grin. "Elena, come on in and sit. It's rare for you to come back. Don't you want to go in and see my mom?"

"No thanks. I'm just walking around."

Elena turned and left.

After she walked away, the woman grabbed Mark by the ear.

"Why were you staring at her like that? Do you like her or something? I slave away serving your whole family, taking care of that paralyzed old thing, and you're checking out other women..."

"Honey, I wasn't! You don't know, that woman used to... used to be in our house..."

Their voices faded as Elena walked toward the house where she had lived with her mentor.

The door was locked. Moss grew on the doorstep, and weeds cluttered the yard.

She remembered a few years ago when the Sterling family sent someone from Cresden City to take her home.

She had been stunned. She never expected there would be a day she'd go back.

She thought her parents didn't want her anymore and had long grown used to living with her mentor.

"Kid, since the Sterling family has come for you, you should go back. Fate or curse, it's something you need to experience. I've taught you so many skills; I hope you'll be able to use them in the future."

"Thank you, sir. But I don't want to leave you."

The old man patted her head. "I know. All these years, you've missed your biological parents, even if you didn't say it. It's good to go back and see. Don't worry about me!"

"Sir, will you continue to live here after I leave?"

"I might wander around a bit. I won't stay here."

That was exactly what Tyler had asked her. To them, it was just a common object.

Even if it was an antique passed down from ancient times, it wouldn't be worth much.

The old man stroked his beard. "Don't underestimate this bronze mirror. You'll understand its purpose later. Just keep it on you!"

The scene of parting with the old man kept replaying in Elena's mind.

She took out the bronze mirror again and examined it closely. There was still nothing special about it.

Two years had passed in a flash, and she didn't know where the old man was now.

Elena checked the time and decided it was about time to head back.

As she was leaving the village, a group of hooligans suddenly appeared and blocked her path.
