"Jonathan, do you really think that's possible? Sean isn't so bored that he has nothing better to do. Do you want me to call him right now?"
As Bianca spoke, she took out her cell phone and dialed Sean's number.
Sean’s voice came through the line, low and velvet-smooth.
"Sean, someone is spreading rumors that you're gay, and that I'm just a cover-up you hired to fool everyone."
On the other end of the line, Sean was completely bewildered.
He was gay?
How did he not know about this?
The rumor had apparently spread like wildfire!
"Who has the audacity to spread such rumors? Give me her name. I'll make her pay for this. I'm going to sue her for defamation!" Sean was furious.
Bianca smiled and looked at Gloria and Kate.
Hearing Sean's furious voice, Gloria was terrified. Bianca had put the phone on speaker, so everyone had heard him.
Jonathan Fairchild quickly shot Bianca a look, signaling her not to sell Gloria out.
"Mr. Maddox, I'll look into it. Once I find out, I'll let you know!"
With that, Bianca hung up the phone.
Jonathan and the others finally let out a sigh of relief.
"Jonathan, you heard him. Sean is furious about this. If he takes his anger out on the Fairchild Group, what will you do? You can't just go around spreading lies! Spreading baseless rumors like this is playing with fire!" Bianca said deliberately.
Jonathan Fairchild backhanded Gloria across the face. "This is all your fault! Can't you just behave? If I hear another word from you about Sean, get out of this house! You're no daughter of mine!"
She had rejected him once before; she couldn't refuse him again this time.
Bianca had no choice but to bite the bullet and accept the contract.
"Don't worry, Jonathan. I'll go see Sean."
"Good. Once this is done, you can have whatever you want!"
Bianca probed, "Anything I want? What if I ask for company shares? Will you give them to me, Jonathan?"
As expected, Jonathan Fairchild's expression instantly changed.
"Why do you want company shares?"
"Jonathan, I'm working at the company now, so of course I want shares. Look, Kate has her own son and daughter, but I'm all alone. I'm not her biological daughter, after all. I need some shares as a safety net, to prove that you've truly accepted me. Otherwise, I really can't feel secure staying in this house. One day, Kate and the others will just kick me out!"
