"Viper, what is this supposed to mean? You made me a promise!"

"I promised to let you rough her up a bit. I never agreed to hand her life over to you."

"Viper, you can't do this. This woman is dangerous. If we don't eliminate her right now, she's going to be a massive headache later. If she manages to slip away, catching her next time won't be this easy!"

Viper was losing his patience.

"Shut the hell up. I told you I have other plans for her, can't you get that through your thick skull? With me here, do you really think she's going anywhere?"

Seeing Viper lose his temper, Lucas Maddox backed down.

"Fine, Viper, she's yours. But before you take her, I need to use her for something."

"Make it quick. Once the boat gets here, I'm taking her out to sea!"

Leaving only a few guards to keep an eye on her.

Elena suddenly realized something.

"Claire, did you get through to Elena?"

The entire room stared at him. Dylan was known for his strict professionalism; he never let personal issues interfere with corporate business.

This meeting was make-or-break, hence the ungodly hour.

Yet here he was, walking out.

Xavier's expression darkened, but he managed to keep a lid on his temper.

"Dylan, where exactly are you going?" Xavier asked in a flat tone.

He was secretly fuming, but with the entire board of directors watching, he couldn't afford to cause a scene.

"Chairman, I have a pressing situation to handle. As for the meeting, I'll have Caleb bring me up to speed later."
