Including everything that had just gone down in that warehouse.
"Sean! Sean! Where is Sean? How is he?" Elena demanded frantically.
"Sean is at the hospital. Don't worry, he's safe," Dylan assured her.
Elena flashed back to that bloody scene—Sean taking Lucas Maddox's brutal beating just to protect her.
And his legs. They had been completely shattered.
The sickening crunch of breaking bones and his agonized screams still seemed to echo in her ears.
"Sean! Sean! I have to go see him!"
Elena threw off the covers, ready to leap out of bed!
"Elena, you just woke up. Your body hasn't recovered yet. Give it a minute before you try to get up. Let me get a doctor to check you over first!"
"I don't need one! I am a doctor. I know my own body perfectly well!"
All Elena cared about right now was Sean. She needed to see him immediately!
Left with no other choice, Dylan helped her up and took her there.
Elena and Dylan rushed to the hospital where Sean was being treated.
Inside the hospital room, Lane was the only one keeping watch over him.
The moment Lane saw Elena walk in, she immediately jumped to her feet.
Elena noticed that Lane's eyes were bloodshot, looking as though she had been quietly crying.
She had always assumed Lane was just an emotionless bodyguard. She never expected to see her cry!
"Lane, how is Sean?" Elena rushed forward to ask.
"Miss Elena, Mr. Maddox is... he's still unconscious. The doctors said he lost too much blood, plus he sustained severe injuries all over, with multiple bone fractures. It's really, really bad..."
Then she ordered, "Contact Seraphis Private Clinic immediately. I want Sean transferred there for treatment. I'm going to operate on him myself!"
She glanced over Sean's medical chart. If he didn't receive the absolute best care possible, even if he did wake up, he would be permanently crippled.
His ribs were all fractured, and both legs were broken. Aside from his arms and his head, barely an inch of his body had been spared.
Thankfully, he hadn't sustained serious brain trauma.
Otherwise, even with Elena here, Sean likely would have died on the spot.
Without wasting any time, Sean was transferred to Seraphis Private Clinic.
Elena changed into her scrubs and entered the operating room alongside several of the clinic's top specialists.
Lane, Dylan, and the others waited anxiously outside.
The lights above the operating room doors stayed lit. The surgery had been going on for a full twenty-four hours, and Elena still hadn't come out.
