Reborn Fake Heiress Watch the Whole Family Burn novel Chapter 724

Meanwhile, Logan arrived at the office carrying a warm breakfast, explicitly bought for Theresa.

She had been furious all morning and hadn't eaten a bite.

He walked to her department but found her desk completely empty.

"Excuse me, have you seen Theresa Graham?"

Lorna Avery looked up. "She hasn't come in yet."

"How is that possible?"

Logically, if she had taken a cab, she should have arrived well before him.

Charles Pembroke sneered. "Give it a rest, Logan. You really need to stop kissing up to a wall of ice."

A deep sense of dread washed over Logan. Ignoring Charles, he grabbed the breakfast and bolted out the door.

Charles rolled his eyes. "Tch, who does he think he is? He doesn't even realize he's being played for a fool, yet here he is buying her breakfast. That tramp Theresa is probably warming some old sugar daddy's bed right now!"

Lorna giggled, feigning sympathy. "Don't be so harsh, Charles. The poor security guard's pursuit of love isn't easy."

"You're too kind, Lorna. Hey, after work today, how about we catch a movie? Would you do me the honor?"

"Of course. I'm totally free tonight."

Recently, Charles had been going all out to court Lorna, showering her with lavish gifts.

A DL necklace one day, an Hermès bag the next—the presents never stopped.

Lorna was afraid she would break his heart if she kept turning him down.

"By the way, Charles," Lorna added slyly, "Theresa is never late. If she's not here by now, she's definitely skipping work. You should report her to Ms. Ward. According to company policy, three days of unauthorized absence means automatic termination!"

Lorna had been at the company long enough to know Rachel Ward wanted Theresa gone.

Truthfully, Lorna couldn't stand her either.

There was something about the arrogant, dismissive way Theresa always looked at her that rubbed Lorna the wrong way.

"Good call. Thanks for the reminder. With Theresa slipping up this badly, I'm sure Ms. Ward will be thrilled."
