Elena was certain Theresa had been relocated.
By scanning the neighborhood's exterior cameras, they were bound to find a trace.
She scrubbed through the footage and finally spotted a man and a woman dragging a heavy suitcase out of the building.
"Theresa must be in that suitcase!" Logan exclaimed.
"Exactly. A normal piece of luggage wouldn't be that heavy unless it had a person inside!"
A sickening dread pooled in both of their stomachs. If Theresa was stuffed into a suitcase, what were they planning to do with her?
Dispose of her body?
Had they already killed her?
Given the freezer full of human remains, this man and woman were clearly seasoned killers.
They tracked the suspects as they loaded the suitcase into a car. However, as the vehicle drove further away from the city center, the surveillance grid thinned out until they completely lost the trail.

When Theresa finally woke up again, she found herself on a swaying boat.
She wasn't alone. There were three other captives with her—two men and one woman.
"Where are we?" Theresa rasped.
She looked around, realizing they were navigating a wide river. Were they being smuggled across the border?
"Let me go! I want to go home! Untie me! However much money you want, I can pay you! Just let me go!"
"Shut up!" A man known as Scar pressed the cold barrel of a pistol directly against her forehead.
"You scream one more time, and I'll blow your brains out. Try me."
Theresa trembled in absolute terror. The couple who had sold her were gone, replaced by this ruthless thug.
He wasn't alone either. Several armed guards flanked him, each gripping an AK-47, their eyes scanning the murky waters.
"Where are you taking us?" Theresa whimpered.
"No questions!"
Theresa bit her lip and stayed silent, huddling on the damp floorboards as she glanced at the other captives.
