Reborn Fake Heiress Watch the Whole Family Burn novel Chapter 865

Lorna screamed in agony once more. She curled into a tight ball in the corner of the room, shivering violently. She had genuinely believed that she and Charles were going to be happy together for the rest of their lives. But it was all a lie. A complete lie. "Get out! You worthless trash. Get the hell out of my apartment. I never want to see your face again!" Charles stormed over, dragged the heavily bruised and battered Lorna by the arm, and literally threw her out the front door. Lorna was homeless. She had absolutely nothing left. She didn't have her phone. She was wearing nothing but a thin nightgown. Her hair was a tangled mess, her face was swollen with dark bruises, and she didn't even have shoes on her feet. She huddled on the side of the street, shivering in the cold. She buried her face in her arms, entirely too ashamed to look up at anyone passing by. "Why is this happening to me? What did I do to deserve this!" she sobbed uncontrollably. "Lorna." A familiar voice cut through her despair. Lorna looked up and saw her father standing there. "Dad..." she cried out, her voice breaking. Butler Avery immediately took off his coat and draped it over her trembling shoulders. "Lorna, let's go home. I've been looking everywhere for you." "Dad, can I really still go home?" she wept. "Of course you can! You will always be my daughter." Within minutes, Butler Avery guided Lorna into a waiting car and drove straight back to the Ellington Estate. Upon arriving, he carefully helped his battered daughter out of the vehicle. Just as they stepped out, they bumped into Logan and Theresa, who were returning home. "Ms. Ellington," the butler greeted respectfully. "Arthur, you found her?" Theresa asked, glancing at the girl. "Yes, I did. Thank you so much, Ms. Ellington." Lorna kept her head bowed, terrified to meet Theresa's eyes. Covered in bruises and stripped of her pride, she felt suffocated by her own inferiority. Theresa didn't stare. She simply said, "Lorna, it's not too late to see that man for the trash he truly is. A woman should never blindly trust the sweet words of a man." Lorna remained silent, choking back a fresh wave of tears. "Arthur, have the family doctor come over and take a look at her injuries," Theresa instructed. "Thank you, Ms. Ellington. Truly," Butler Avery said, deeply moved. He then gently led Lorna toward the staff quarters. "Lorna, look at her. Ms. Ellington never held a grudge against you. In fact, she was the one who gave me the tip on where to find you. The Chairman's family are truly good people. We owe them everything. Even after all the terrible things you did to her, she didn't punish you; she even called a doctor for you. You need to learn how to be grateful." He paused, his tone growing solemn. "Everyone is born with their own fate. Even though your old man doesn't have much money, and you can't be a billionaire heiress, in my heart, you are my little heiress. You are my treasure. We just need to live our own lives honestly. We shouldn't covet things that don't belong to us. If everyone wanted to be an heiress, wouldn't the world be in total chaos?" "As long as we hold our heads high and live with integrity, we can be happy, even without wealth. Do you understand what I'm saying, sweetheart? Don't ever chase after that kind of toxic vanity again. You must be honest and keep your feet planted firmly on the ground. Your mother still doesn't know about any of this, and it's best we keep it that way. You need to behave from now on." Listening to her father's desperate, heartfelt advice, Lorna nodded through her tears. How could she dare to ask for anything more now? The true love she thought she had found was a complete sham. Every single illusion had shattered. She was just a butler's daughter. Meanwhile, Theresa had specifically come back to the estate today to have dinner with her parents. It was her first official day as the CEO, and she wanted to celebrate. As they walked inside, Logan asked curiously, "Why were you so kind just now, getting a doctor for Lorna?"
