Rewrite Her Thrilling Life (Lillian and Sebastian) novel Chapter 1102

Derrick stepped forward to support Uriel as her strength began to fail. His cold gaze locked onto Renee. "You are a truly pathetic woman, Renee. You have wasted your entire life nursing a grudge that consumed every moment of your existence. In the end, you are still a miserable wretch that no one will ever love. My son will be fine. As for you, your reckoning is coming."

Renee burst into a fit of manic laughter. "Pathetic? Yes, I am miserable! But you made me this way. If you had just been a good boy and married me, none of this would have happened. Your father’s car accident and your son having only forty-eight hours to live... it is all your fault. You brought this on yourself."

Derrick stiffened in shock. "You were behind my father’s accident?"

The laughter vanished from Renee’s face, replaced by a sinister smirk. "Exactly. Surprised? It is just a shame it did not kill him then and there."

"Why?" Derrick demanded. "I was the one who refused to marry you. What did my father have to do with any of this?"

Renee let out a sharp, derisive laugh. "Why? To lure you back to the country, of course! If he had not been in that accident, would you have ever returned to Dracovia?"

"You staged a car accident just to force me back?" Derrick stared at her, horrified. He could not fathom how someone could be so depraved for the sake of a vendetta.

Renee smoothed her dress with a lazy, bored gesture. "Naturally. Tell me, were you not surprised and delighted when you received those photos?"

At this point, Renee had nothing left to lose. Her primary goal had been achieved, and she took a perverse pleasure in seeing Derrick’s world crumble. The more he knew, the more he would suffer.
