Save Her Lose Us (Evangeline and Soren) novel Chapter 466

“So, you’re happy for Glenn, huh?” Finn’s smile didn’t quite reach his eyes, a hint of jealousy in his tone. “And here I thought it was about the money.”

Evangeline picked up on the sour note in his voice.

She gave him a serious look, then sat on the edge of the bed. Tilting her head, she studied his face and chuckled. “Are you jealous?”

“Hmph?” Finn raised an eyebrow, putting on a mock-pout.

Evangeline smiled and cupped his face in her hands. “Don’t be mad. In my heart, you and Glenn are completely different.”

“Glenn is my friend—a really, really good friend who would never betray me.”

“You’re my boyfriend. You’re my other half, the one I can always count on, who clears every obstacle from my path.”

“Besides, if UME can get a foothold and grow in Serenity City, Glenn and I can protect Tessa. We can make it so she doesn’t have to worry about pressure from the Carlisles and can finally come back without fear.”

“So if Glenn and I were both in danger at the same time, who would you save?” Finn asked.

Evangeline was speechless.

If he and Glenn were in danger at the same time, it probably wasn't a situation she could solve just by wanting to, she thought to herself.

But she didn’t say that out loud. Instead, she smiled. “You, of course. When Glenn gets married someday, he’ll have a wife to save him, just like I’d save you.”

Finn seemed satisfied enough with her answer.

Evangeline took the opportunity to switch to a more business-like tone. “They want me there when the contract is signed. So, I’ll head to the office first, and once everything is handled there, I’ll come back to be with you.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll hire an experienced caregiver to stay with you. I won’t just abandon you.”

As she spoke, she anxiously watched Finn’s expression, worried he might get angry.

After all, he had just been seriously injured for her. For her to leave him in the hospital felt undeniably heartless.
