She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 654

During the meal, Jean brought Giselle and a few other staff members over to offer a toast, taking the opportunity to rave about the massive online storm Bloomberry's two outfits had created.

"A bunch of famous designers and magazine editors just shared photos of our clothes! The waitlist for these two new outfits is backed up to next year. You are incredible, Ms. Lonsdale! You literally turned a company on the brink of bankruptcy into a fashion powerhouse!"

"We achieved this together," Loyce replied warmly. "Designing such phenomenal pieces in such a short time was a team effort."

Barely containing her excitement, Jean gently pushed Giselle forward. "Exactly! And Giselle is amazing. To perfectly nail the measurements for both you and Mr. Lonsdale without a formal fitting is pure talent."

Jean shot Giselle a frantic look. She didn't know why the girl was standing there like a statue, not saying a word or raising her glass.

Thankfully, the male coworker standing next to her had enough social grace to subtly tug on Giselle's sleeve, signaling her to toast Loyce with him. She complied, and then the two of them turned to toast Hank.

To everyone's shock, Hank didn't even look at the man. "I don't drink with just anyone."

The man's face instantly burned with acute embarrassment. Knowing Hank was deliberately targeting her, Giselle stepped protectively in front of her coworker. Her tone was sharp. "It's true that ordinary people like us aren't worthy of your attention, but you are incredibly rude and completely lacking in basic manners. It's repulsive."

"Let's go, Sean," Giselle snapped, dragging her coworker away.

A sudden, sharp crack echoed through the room.

Hank had literally crushed his glass goblet with his bare hand. Blood began pooling in his palm, but he stood up as if he felt absolutely no pain. "My clothes are dirty. I'm going to change," he announced coldly, turning on his heel.

Witnessing that, Giselle's heart practically stopped.

Loyce was about to ask if he needed a bandage, but Lucian slipped his hand into hers under the table. "We've eaten plenty. Let's go for a walk to digest."
