Chapter 192 In a Mood?
Diana walked to the back area, and Isabelle emerged from the coffee lounge to meet her.
“See? One thing in public, another in private,” Diana said, glancing toward where Celeste sat.
Isabelle said. “It doesn’t matter. Business is NS.”
“I thought you’d refuse. Why take a job for someone like that?” Diana asked.
Isabelle sneered, “With a mouth like hers, once she wears a Muddlehead gown, the entire social circle will know the name. We’ll make a fortune. Why pass up that opportunity?”
“Ending with a dramatic reveal and putting her in her place. Ms. Foster, you’re something else,” Diana said, genuinely impressed.
“Make sure you note all her requirements carefully. Don’t miss any details. From today, record every client consultation for after–sales protection. I have a cocktail event tonight, so I’m leaving this in your hands.” Isabelle gave Diana’s cheek a light pinch.
Diana grinned, saying, “Don’t worry. Go enjoy yourself. I’ve got this.”
Isabelle looked toward the front courtyard, a sly smile touching her lips. As she turned to leave through the back door, a familiar voice came from the front.
“Mr. Cross! You’re here.” Celeste’s voice was sickly sweet as she hurried to greet him.
Damian ignored her, his eyes scanning the room as if looking for someone.
Isabelle quickly ducked behind a pillar, staying out of sight.
Diana walked forward. “Mr. Cross, what brings you here?”
“Just placed an order for a staff uniform. Thought I’d browse Muddlehead’s past work for reference,” Damian replied casually.
But his eyes were on the back courtyard. From behind a stone pillar, he caught a glimpse of a familiar pair of flats before they disappeared again.
Where have I seen those shoes?
He narrowed his eyes.
“Mr. Cross…” Celeste’s smile faltered at the word “staff.”

Diana pressed her lips together to hide a smile.
“I heard Muddlehead was in. Would I have the honor of meeting her?” Damian asked.
He’d rushed over the moment he saw Celeste’s message half an hour ago.
Damian directed the question at Diana, but his gaze kept drifting toward the pillar in the back.
After partnering with Muddlehead last year, Cross Boutique’s sales–both online and offline -had skyrocketed. The woman’s designs were clearly a hit.
He’d wanted to meet her for a long time. There was something oddly familiar about the whole situation.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Cross. Muddlehead is… in a mood today. She’s not seeing anyone,” Diana said, offering an apologetic look.
Damian frowned.
In a mood?
“What would put her in a better mood?” he asked.
“Her husband bought something for another woman, but not for her. So she’s refusing all visitors today,” Diana explained with a helpless shrug.
Beside them, Celeste shifted uncomfortably, sensing something was off.
Damian watched the spot where the shoes had vanished. His expression darkened.
That’s a problem I can’t solve.
Behind the pillar, Isabelle frowned.
I can’t go out now. I need to wait until Celeste has sung Muddlehead’s praises to the entire social scene. Showing up now would ruin everything.
She didn’t wait to hear the rest of the conversation. She turned and slipped out the back door.
Carrying two elegant garment bags, Isabelle waited by the roadside. A Tesla pulled up in front of her, and she got in.
“You’re right on time,” Helena said from the back seat, moving over to make room.

Isabelle carefully settled in beside her, her eyes dropping to Helena’s abdomen. “How are you feeling?”
