Sweet Flash Marriage with the Restrained Tycoon (Isabelle and Damien) novel Chapter 25

Gary and Nicole were actually perfect for each other, in a way.

"So where are you staying now? Give me your address so I don't have to worry about you." Eleanor organized her design sketches while she talked.

Isabelle couldn't exactly tell her she was living with the CEO.

"I'm just crashing at a friend's place for now. I'll let you know once I figure out something permanent."

Isabelle didn't mention anything about getting married.

"I heard we need to leave two days early for Solvenia Fashion Week. Are you ready?" Eleanor asked.

The reminder hit Isabelle like a splash of cold water. She'd completely forgotten about it.

Solvenia Fashion Week drew all the major designers, and making connections with the established names in the industry would be incredibly valuable.

"Ms. Foster." Harrison walked over with files in his hands. "Come on, Mr. Cross wants to discuss Fashion Week with us."

"Right now?"

"Yeah."

"Okay."

Heading up to the 30th floor again made her stomach twist with nerves.

"Don't be nervous. Mr. Cross might seem intimidating, but he's actually pretty gentle and easy to talk to most of the time. As long as you haven't screwed up big time, he won't give you a hard time." Harrison noticed how tense Isabelle looked and tried to reassure her.

Gentle? After that night, she couldn't see anything gentle about him whatsoever. He was a complete animal.

Isabelle just smiled and nodded without saying anything.

They arrived at Damian's office shortly after and knocked on the door.

"Come in."

When they entered, he was sitting on the couch with his frameless glasses perched lazily on his nose. Several documents were spread across the coffee table in front of him, and his brow was furrowed like he'd hit some kind of problem.

The pen in his hand hovered over a document, but he seemed stuck on where to even start.

"Mr. Cross," Harrison said.

"Sit." He didn't bother looking up.

Harrison and Isabelle took seats across from him.

"There are two files here. Take a look at them first," Damian said.

Brian stepped forward and handed each of them a folder.

Isabelle skimmed through the document and didn't see any issues at first, but then her eyes caught on one particular name—"Muddlehead."

Harrison glanced over at Isabelle, and Damian's gaze followed his and landed on her too. Isabelle snapped back to attention.

"Y-yeah, they're ready," she stammered.

The truth was she hadn't prepared anything at all. She'd been so caught up dealing with that cheating asshole and his mistress that she'd completely forgotten about the assignment.

"Ms. Foster, am I really that scary?" Damian asked.

Isabelle pressed her lips together and shook her head.

Brian stood off to the side with his fist pressed against his mouth, trying not to laugh.

Harrison chimed in, "Mr. Cross, please don't hold it against her. Ms. Foster doesn't usually attend such formal meetings, so it's perfectly normal for her to be a little nervous."

Damian didn't say anything, just waved his hand to dismiss them.

Isabelle quickly gathered her things and followed Harrison out of the CEO's office.

Her phone buzzed the second they left. It was Damian himself. "Come back up before lunch."

"Yes, Mr. Cross."

Isabelle didn't know what else to call him. At the office, everything had to stay professional, so she stuck with Mr. Cross.
