Isabelle continued, “I’m perfectly happy just having been with a man like that. Even if he left me eventually, it’s not like I’d have lost out, would I?” A satisfied smile spread across Isabelle’s face.

Ashley forced a weak smile and offered no rebuttal.

Isabelle hadn’t been rattled at all by Ashley’s little appearance.

She didn’t care what Ashley said.

After all, Isabelle was the one who had won.

Like she said, being with a top–tier man like Damian, even if it didn’t last forever, was no loss.

Besides, they were married now. While they’d started with an agreement to keep things respectful and uncomplicated, now that real feelings were involved, she believed their relationship was solid.

“What gave her the nerve to come up and say all that to you, anyway?” Diana grumbled, still annoyed.

Isabelle had been wondering the same thing.

“She must still be plotting something. Showing up to provoke you before making a move… Do you think she’s looking for some girl who looks like you to throw at Damian?”

Isabelle was taken aback.

Where did Diana get these ideas?

Still, based on what Ashley had implied, Diana’s guess wasn’t completely baseless.

“If he’s really that kind of man, then what’s the point of keeping him?” Isabelle said. She used to not care about such things.
